Elixir-France
Life science experiments generate an immense and exponentially increasing volume of data and number of softwares. It is necessary to store the data, make it accessible, interoperable and safe.
ELIXIR is an intergovernmental organisation that gathers European life science resources including databases, software tools, training materials, cloud storage and supercomputers. The goal of ELIXIR is to coordinate such resources to form a single infrastructure allowing scientists to find and share data, exchange expertise, and agree on best practices across Europe.
IFB is the French node of ELIXIR (ELIXIR-FR)
The mission of Elixir-FR is to empower the French Bioinformatic community with tools and expertise in order to enhance their provision of services to medical and life sciences research. For that purpose, Elixir-FR ensures the long-term sustainability of the French National bioinformatic resources, participates to the development of a sustainable infrastructure for storing, processing and analysing life science data and provides access to tools and trainings to facilitate these activities.
